To mark the fiftieth anniversary of Sir Winston Churchill’s death, Halcyon Days collaborated with the National Portrait Gallery to create this limited edition enamel box. The portrait on the lid of the box was painted in 1916 by Sir William Newenham Montague Orpen. Perhaps because of the recent disaster at Gallipoli, Churchill’s expression seems deeply troubled, making this portrait quite unique in capturing his profound, personal sense of humanity, as well as his public role as a statesman. A handsome example of great British craftsmanship, handpainted in England using traditional techniques.
Measures 2½” w x 3¼” d x 1″ h.
